Cookie trouble

Hi

I am having problems accessing a certain website with
Internet Explorer 6.

The problem occurs with a websites which requires cookies
to be enabled. It gives me a message that I must enable
cookies in order to access it. Thing is, I have cookies
enabled but still get the message!

I double and triple checked my cookie settings - I even
temporarily set my security settings to "low" and rebooted
my system - to no avail, every time I try to access the
website I get the message to enable cookies.

There is no problem with the website either (it is a
reputable site) because my friends, who run the same
system, Windows XP Home and Internet Explorer 6, do not
have the problem - for them everything works fine.

What could the problem be? Is it possible that my virus
checker (avast! Antivirus) is interfering with my browser
settings?

Thanks and regards,

Jorg.

Hi,
I don't know about Avast, but a security program could be blocking cookies.
Check your firewall, ad-blockers, check settings for Avast and other
programs running in the background.
