Contrast Window Pops Up on Monitor

I know this might not be the right forum, so maybe someone could direct me to
the right site to correct this problem(s):
1) The contrast window pops up all the time in the middle of the screen. It
is set at 100 percent, I cannot change the percentage with the buttons for
adjustment on this monitor, nor can I correct this problem at all. This
happend in the past, about 6mos ago, and now is happening again, and more and
more frequently.
2) Drivers:
a) does windows xp have drivers that interact with the monitor?
b) I have a ATI Pro 9800 installed on this computer, do these drivers
interact with this monitor, and if xp has drivers, do they also
interact
with the ati card?
c) do all the drivers interact in some way, that is, xp drivers, ati
drivers
and the monitors drivers?

Right click on Your Desktop and select Properties, on the Display properties
click on Settings.
Then click on Advanced Button, on the Video card Window click on General
tab, make sure these settings are correct:
Under Display;
DPI settings:
[ Norma size (96DPI) ][v]

Then click on Monitor tab and under this option:
Monitor settings
Screen refresh rate:
[ 60 Hertz ][v] but your monitor could be
72Hertz try 60 Htz first.
[ ] Hide modes that this monitor cannot display.

Then click on your Graphic card settings and click on Advanced Button or
configure and make your changes.
HTH.
Let us know.
