I gather that your connection was stable before adding the wireless router?
Are you actually losing sync with the DSLAM, or just losing connection
through the router. I had a flaky Linksys that lost computer connection to
the Internet; but the ADSL modem never lost sync. I replaced that router.

I would start by removing the router (be sure you have a firewall in
place!) and verify whether the connection remains stable. If removing the
router stabilizes the connection, I would consider that the router might be
a cause. Not that the router, itself, may be defective. I have heard of
cases where a router with only a 10mbps WAN Ethernet port has trouble
connecting to a DSL modem with a 10/100mbps Ethernet port.
