Connect to Printers on WinXP

A

Al Franz

Have some printers connected to a WinXP machine. Want to connect to them
from a Win2000 machine.

Do I need to create a user account on the WinXP machine for the Win2000 user
matching their login and password?

Anything else special I need to do to make this work? Do I download drivers
for these printers and install them on the Win2000 machine?

Yes, you'll want to create matching accounts to ensure access to them. You
may or may not need to locally install drivers on the XP computer for the
Windows 2000 computers to use them, you can do this by right-clicking the
shared printer and selecting Properties, then the Sharing tab, then the
Additional Drivers button.
