Computer won't load up pictures when I insert camera's memory stick???

When I first go tmy computer less than a week ago I inserted my Sony memory stick into the slot in the front of the computer and it automatically loaded up all my pictures so I could save them to the computer. Now I tried it again, and it won't open them up, and the drive won't show up when I open up "My Computer". The little light on the front of the computer won't light up either like it did before when it worked..

It opens up when I connect the USB cord to my camera with the memory stick in the camera... But not when I just insert the memory stick. What gives? Somebody help me PLEASE

It sounds like the same problem describe in the "Sony Memory Stick Does Not Work After You Format It with Your Compute
" site, but the solution is not working. If only autoloading was the problem, then I wouldn't care and I could just open it up from "My Computer". But it doesn't even show up. The driver isn't even listed in the "My computer properties

Any other help would be great. Please, and thanks in advance

Did you format the stick in your camera?

To work around this problem, format the memory stick in a device that is designed to
use this type of media, such as a Sony-specific device.

Did you install the service pack for Windows?

I'm pretty sure that the memory stick is already formatted, considering I have about 150 pictures on it already, and it works fine when I use my camera, or when I hook up the YSB to the computer. Also, it worked before the first time I used it in my computer, so I don't think formatting is the problem.

And the service pack idea doesn't seem like it is the problem. I'm not at home right now, so I can't try that service pack thing. But by the descriptions it lists, none really seem to fit my problem. If I do try installing the service pack, will it mess up anything on my computer, if that wasn't the problem
