When i am playing age of empires III or watching a movie by computer hangs.
Sometimes i get a beep and it resumes back after 20 mins. Twice i recieved a
message from my ATI video card about VPU recover message, so i uninstalled
the driver and used the video from my motherboard but the problem still
presists. Also the clock freezes when the computer hangs. I tried system
restore but i get messase that "Restoration is incomplete".

Please help, is it a virus or what is the promblem?

It's probably not a virus, but a hardware or driver incompatibility.

Be sure that the settings you're using are fully within the capacities of
the hardware you have and the drivers in use. Not all hardware works
properly with all games.

Also, you should be aware of potential conflicts between the hardware on
the motherboard and the ATI card. For example, if your system has a VIA
chipset, the thread at this page suggests a hardware conflict with ATI
cards. To get around it, you'd have to physically remove the ATI card or
replace the motherboard with one that uses a compatible chipset.

i don't think that this is the case with my problem, the computer started to
act this way after 3-4 months. At first i couldn't open My Pictures folder
because of some DEP error problem. And then as i was playing call of duty
(Demo) it started to freeze up. At first i thought that this was the game
then the problem got worse as in rare cases the computer started to freeze.
Once it froze as i was quitting windows media player and then it started to
make some noise and started to act really slow. Sometimes it freezes as i am
connecting to the interent, watching DVD movies or when the computer starts
up. I scanned with Nortorn Antivirus and Spyware and nothing came up. I am
using a pirated windows, could that be the problem?
