Computer does not boot up!

I was working on the computer Thursday all morning. Went to lunch and had to
reboot, because everything froze up. Went to Re-Boot, and nothing comes up
at all. it is an HP Pavillion, had no problems before this. Have tried the
restore disks, but they don't come up either. What do I do?

Reboot into Safe Mode , last good configeration?
Using Restore Disks, may well destroy ALL data!

When you say "nothing comes up", does that mean that the computer itself
doesn't start? Does it power on? Do you get the HP splash screen? Or
does it just sit at the Windows logo? If you push the power button and
nothing happens, your power supply might be dead. This is easily tested
by attaching a known-working power supply. If the machine still doesn't
power on with a known-working power supply, you have additional
hardware problems. It could be the power switch, or the motherboard. If
you are not skilled in diagnosing hardware problems, you should take
the machine to a good local repair shop (not a BestBuy or CompUSA) type
of store. Or if the machine is still under warranty, contact the place
where you bought it.
