Booting problem

I have a HP Pavillion and the C drive crashed so I had to
do a restore from my restore disk. Now when I boot, the
computer may boot up the first time or it may take from 3
to 10 boots for it to stay. It will boot to the desk top
and then reboot until it finally stays on. I'm running
XP Home. This never happened befor the crash.

Check all of your windows updates, make sure they are up
to speed. Especially service pack 1a.

Bob you might want to investigate the possibility of hardware problems.
Use memtest86 to check the memory and download a drive diagnostic
utility from the hard drive manufacturer's web site.
