Comp won't turn off

Comp won't turn off by selecting shut down or restart from start menu. Will
only shut down by pressing power button. What is the cause and fix for
this?! Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My son's computer does that. Go to Control Panel, click on Performance and
Maintenance, then choose power options, then click on hibernate and check
mark enable hibernation. I hope this works for you.
