I have Outlook 200 and would like to know how I can change the color of
appointments and meetings. I have looked everywhere and can't find how to do
it.

Outlook 200-what? Change the color based on what criteria?

I would like to be able to highlight different types of meetings with
different colors so the ones that relate to each other are the same color.

What version of Outlook? You said "Outlook 200", apparently eliding the
final character.

sorry 2000!

Your choices for coloring calendar entries are limited and controlled by the
"Label" drop-down on the calendar item creation form.

Not in Outlook 2000. The only color coding it has is through the Automatic Formatting dialog for the view settings.

I have tried that and it won't give me the option to select the
auto-formatting. It isn't highlighted. What has to be selected in order for
it to allow me to choose that option.

What view are you looking at? This feature applies only to table-type views.

I guess I am not sure what you are saying. I am in the month view and I am
trying to change the color of certain appointments there.

I couldn't recall. It's been too long. I'll stop answering unless I know
for sure the answer applies.

The By Category view is an example of a table view. The Day/Week/Month view is not and does not support automatic formatting.

Sorry, but how do i get into table view to do this, or am I just trying to do
something that isn't going to work for what I need?

If you don't know what a table view is, go to your Views menu and display the By Category view.

Maybe you should think about upgrading to Outlook 2003.
