Closing IE

When I try to close IE using the X in the upper right
corner, nothing happens. I hear a little beep or noise,
but nothing happens. The only way I can close it, is to
bring up task manager and end explorer by force.

Walter,
This can be caused by spyware/parasites. Work through the solutions
(CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Or, look at other programs which might be interfering with IE. Disable (for
diagnostic purposes) ad-blockers, antivirus, toolbars and other add-ons for
IE. You may have to uninstall/reinstall one of them.
