clicking edit button in menu toolbar no longer works

I always empty the trash by clicking on the edit button but for some reason
lately I can't use the edit button. All others are working normally and it's
only in Windows Mail.

I have no idea what I did but it is working now. The only thing that I did
was open the Welcome to Windows Mail msg that I saved and clicked on a link
microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail and it opened on my newsgroups. I
seldom have time to check these msgs but maybe I will begin to make time.
Strange....
