Click to run an Active X control on this page problem

I am occasionally getting this message from certain websites:
Click to run an Active X control on this page

When I click 'ok' or even if I don't it seems to crash my browser. Firefox
on the other hand seems unaffected. What can I do to remedy the situation?

Crumbs! All that stuff is as clear as mud to me. I don't think the
'ordinary' user will be able to fathom out what they should be doing. I
think I managed to install the update they are talking about. However, IE is
STILL crashing every time I get one of these messages and I'm not at all
clear as to whether this message is going to occur all the time or not.

I am also getting this message occasionally and have tried every avenue I
know with no success. What can I do?

I am also having the same issue. I went to the link suggested and ran the
executable. Still having the same problem.

see web site: www.cphscelebrities.org

On the left hand side should be links for Home, About Us, etc....

These do not display. I get the ActiveX message, click ok and nothing.
