Clearing Passwords

When I go to Tools, Internet Options, Content,
AutoComplete, Clear Passwords, my computer will not clear
the passwords after clicking Clear Passwords. My cursor
just sits there and when I do Ctrl + Alt + Del, it states
that the program is (Not Responding). Is there another
way to clear the passwords in IE 6? Thanks for any help
you could give me on this problem.

I've recently had the exact problem with IE 5.5
The way I worked around it was to change my user name for the computer using
TweakUI / Logon tab. You have to retype all your user names and passwords
again at the sites you visit, but at least this works. I deleted my
"username.pwl" file and that didn't help a bit so that's why I used the new
username.

Hi,
You probably have a damaged registry key.

Try this:
With no programs open,
Run REGEDIT and make your way to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft Internet Explorer
IntelliForms
SPW
Export that key (Registry> Export- just in case you wish to undo the
change) then delete it- just the SPW key.
Restart the computer.

Hope this helps,
Don
