Clear History doesn't work since I installed the latest security patches

Since I installed the following patches on my PC running
under Windows Me
[Critical Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1
(KB831167)
Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express 6 Service
Pack 1 (KB837009)]
the clear history function at Tools>General in IE 6
doesn't work. The clear function at Start>Settings>Taskbar
and Start Menu> Advanced doesn't clear the browser history
either.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

The latest cumulative update for IE is Q832894. Download this from Windows
Update site.
