I just bought two brand new computers and put them together from scratch.
First one I installed WINXP Pro no problem. The second one keeps giving me
this error message.
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent
damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you are seeing this stop error screen restart you
computer.
If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Disable it or uninstall any antivirus.
Disk defragmentation or backup utilities.
Check your hard drive configurations and check for any updated drivers.
Run chkdsk/f to check for hard drive corruption and then restart you computer.

Hi,
Thanks for the assistance, but I found out what it was. I ran Memtest and
found that I had a defective ram chip. So I took it back to the store, got a
new one and now the installation works fine. It was just the defective memory
chip. Thanks again.
