Windows XP checking free memory

what is the the best way of checking free memory on your computer system - thinking here of storage (what used to be called Rom) not operating memory

Not quite sure what you mean but this freebie software program SIW will give you the information shown in the attached pic, if that's any help

You can check the amount of disk space (which is what I think you mean?) by opening up "My Computer", rightclicking on a drive (normally, just the C drive would be the main one) and then click properties. It should then show you a pie chart with the amount of free space left :thumb:
