Changing Settings..

I loved this beta version..UNTIL...i did a scan (had it
set to scan daily) and it found 13 pieces of spyware.
removed them all..then was notified that i had to reboot.
after reboot i got a notification that i had limited or no
connectivity. called my cable service provider and went
through an hours worth of walkthroughs with them with them
trying to reset everything. nothing worked. finally had
to reformat my drive and start over...from start. it
sucked, but that's the only way i could get back online.
now here i sit, wanting to install it again, but im really
scared to. is this happening to anyone else? where the
software just takes over your connectivity settings? if
so, has anyone been able to fix it without a full
reformat? let me know please...

thanks in advance

As Mark mentions--your cable service provider could have been mor on the
ball, although, to be fair, it really wasn't their job to help out with this
issue. Read the KB article he cites--it'll help you understand what the
root cause of the problem was, and how easy it might have been to fix it.

Rest assured also, that Microsoft understands that this isn't the optimal
experience they want users of the product to have, and I hope that we'll see
some change to how this kind of removal works in future versions of the
product.
