changing from 2003 to 2007

I have recently installed offcie 2007, and now whenever I try and do a
slideshow, all the text boxes are cut in half, and only half of each line of
text is shown
Also, when I try and edit text, the cursor does not sit anywhere near the
text I am working on, it sits 2cm below it.
Lines in pictures and diagrams do not start or finish in the right place
either.
This is not a betea version, and it has been activated, can anyone tell me
what is going on. It doesnt matter whether I save files as 1997-2003 format,
or as 2007 format. I have also checked all the boxes for powerpoint to make
automatic downloads.

Have you installed a local printer and gotten the most current printer
driver updates? Also make sure you download and install all the Office
updates.

The printer driver advice Bill gave sounds odd, I know, but PPT 2007
apparently relies quite heavily on the printer drivers even for display....

Sounds like your printer driver's not compatible with PPT. Or vice versa,
depending on who's pointing the Finger Of Blame at whom.

Try installing a Windows cerrtified driver for your printer, see if that helps.

Hmm. Are there any particular drivers that might be better than
others, at least in terms of just the display aspects. Obviously, if
you need to print, then you are constrained by the printer you have on
hand. Might one driver be better at faster screen updates and another
at appearances? Would this have any bearing on the jaggies issue?
Or is it simply just neccessary to have a certified driver? Is it
related to the OS, XP vs Vista? So many questions to explore for when
I get at my high-speed access later this evening.

They're good questions, too, but I don't know the answers.

I was told "any driver that ships in the box [with Windows]" or any
certified driver. I asked if there was a list and was pointed here:

If you're having trouble with text display, I'd try changing to as generic a
driver as you can find here.

I looked at 2007 on a large screen (10-foot) the other day, and the jaggies
are much less noticeable.

After playing with a few drivers that come with XP, I certainly wouldn't go
too generic. I can't think of any use for "generic/text only", other than
mischief.
"generic 9 pin" is also quite bad. Otherwise it seems best to stick to
something from the list for the printer you have at hand.
