CDROM issue upgrading from Win 98se to XP Prof

When I put the XP Pro upgrade CD in the PC, the CD spins up and down
repeatly, I eventually get an error that the CD needs cleaning which is
false. Searching microsofts website, it appears that the upgrade CD is in
UDFS format. I have loaded an adaptec UDF driver. Still, the CDROM will not
read the upgrade CD. I have the latest BIOS installed. I have went to a
relatives house who also have 98se and tried it there. That version of 98se
reads the CD just fine. What am I missing?

You may have a physical problem with your CD drive.. try using a CD lens
cleaner disc in it..
