CD-ROM not working

D

Dan

My CDROM and other components all worked and then one day
out of the blue my CDROM will not read CDs and when it
tries to my system hangs untill i eject the CD, and after
i egect my system goes back to normal

specs:
XP Pro
Chaintech 7NJS Zenith (Nforce2 with raid)(raid disabled)
unknown OEM CDRW
xp2600 333mhz fsb
512mb of GeIL DDR400
radeon 9700 video card

i rebooted after hand once and a message telling me that
my video card has had an error has popped up
so i disabled my vid card driver and was able to use my
CDROM, so i tried reinstalling and updating my video card
drivers and XP Signed drivers and still have the same
problem

then i tried reinstalling CDROM drivers and using the
defauly XP drivers without any luck

i tried reformatting without no luck and tried XP updates
without any luck

in device manager it is reconizing my Harddrive and my
CDRW both as SCSI devices even though i have raid
disabled and using only my IDE 1

i emailed ATI and they said it wasnt my video card or
drivers so i emailed chaintech and they are sending me a
new driver CD

any ideas?
