CD Key not working

Good day

I have a problem with an installation of Windows XP Pro. When I am doing a
repair using a cd of my own (from Action Pack Subscription) on an OEM Version
(has written on the side Windows XP PRo 1-2CPU) it will not accept the CD-Key
on the sticker on the side of the PC. Please advise urgently!

Thanks

The OEM Product Key will only work with an OEM
version of Windows XP. Contact your PC manufacturer
for assistance. Action Pack Subscription software are not OEM.

One reason why I agree with Bobcat1 and using caps.
I have found many times in CD Keys that the O could easily be the Number or
Zero. try it both ways, and be sure you really do see a tail on the Q. But
Zero and Oh are the ones that always get me. they should try some old fashion
tatics, a slash thru the Oh makes it a Zero.
Good Luc oh yeah then there is the L and the l which are both Ls and the
I and the l which is a Cap Eye and a small L. Yup, most use all Caps for this
reason.

Basically I need the cd with which it was installed with. Retail Pack/OEM or
DSP, etc.

Microsoft does not use 0 or O in product keys. Also 1 and l are not
used.

But it is possible to confuse G and 6, 8 and B, or 5 and S; and I have
done them all more than once.

You need to use an OEM CD to perform the repair.

Product Keys are bound to the specific type and language of
CD/license (OEM, Volume, retail, full, or Upgrade) with which they are
purchased. For example, a WinXP Home OEM Product Key won't work for any
retail version of WinXP Home, or for any version of WinXP Pro, and vice
versa. An upgrade's Product Key cannot be used with a full version CD,
and vice versa. An OEM Product Key will not work to install a retail
product. An Italian Product Key will not work with an English CD.
Bottom line: Product Keys and CD/license types cannot be mixed & matched.

Your don't actually need to original installation CD, but you do need
one of the same type. Within its class/type, each CD is not unique.
Therefore, a retail full WinXP Pro product key will work with any retail
full WinXP Pro CD. A WinXP Home Upgrade product key will work with any
WinXP Home Upgrade CD. And so on ....

If you have the CD supplied to you by your computer maker then it is
wise to do a clean install of the OS. If you decide to do this then
please copy your data before doing so.

Also, make sure the serial number sticker is still there at the back of
your PC otherwise you will be struggle even more. Although it is
possible to get a number from the system, it is of no use to you as this
likely to be for factory installation requiring special CD for it. You
are not likely to get it freely!!

If you don't have the media to do the clean install and you don't have
the restore CD then the only way is to run down the high street and buy
a new XP CD in a box.

Computer makers are not interested to help out people who have bought
systems more than 12 months ago. They are running a business to make a
profit and helping customers does not help in this respect.
