CD Burner

On one of my systems, I have a CD Burner. It plays CD's just fine. I haven't
tried burning files yet, but I do know that when trying to burn an Audio CD
in Windows Media Player 10, I get the message "No CD or DVD burners
detected. Press F5 to refresh the player". I have uninstalled, and
re-installed the burner, but I get the same result. Any suggestions? (If you
need more info, just let me know what you need.)

One possible chance:

In My Computer
right click on the drive that is your burner
left click on properteries
see if you have a Recording tab, if so then left click it
and see if your "Enable CD Recording" is un-checked on that drive.

If so then check it and then see if Windows can find a clue that
you have a burner installed.

Thanks for your suggestion. It's good to know that you don't know anything
about this subject (otherwise, you would have made a suggestion, and then
immaturely continued an unnecessary argument.)

No recording tab. It is an HP CD-Writer Plus 7200. I checked HP, and I will
order a driver CD, and see how that goes. Thanks for your suggestion

Hi Tony

See here:

CD-R drive or CD-RW drive is not recognized as a recordable device
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316529/

If that doesn't work, maybe you should look into downloading new
drivers or firmware for your drive.

This is one of your answers regarding the amount of times Windows XP can be

you." Now, if you go back to step 2, and click that help link again, you
will see that you CAN be reported for this. Stop TRYING to be so smart, and
use the newsgroups as they were intended to be used. I'm sure I say this on
behalf of most, if not all, of the newsgroup community, Thanks.

Try it yourself before you speak. Go ahead, and look on HP website. You know
what, since you are so smart, I won't even tell you AGAIN what model burner
I have, so you can find that among this thread.

Kurttrail,

After reading some of your prior posts, you sound like a disgruntled Junior
High computer science student. Is this true? Move on Kurt. Oh, I'm in the
wrong newsgroup? Sorry.
