But the odd thing about it is there is no mention in the
user manual for the camera that says the card should be
formatted before using it. Oh well...

Not all that odd when you think about how crappy
most manuals are. There may have been corrupted
files on the card.

Just wondering...what's the brand and memory size
of the card?

What I meant was, how did the card work at all in the
camera if it needs to be formatted? Even the one that
came with it wouldn't work in the reader. It needed to
be formatted also. the card is a Lexar, 128 meg. the
original is a San Disk and that also needed to be
formatted.

Some questions are impossible to answer,
but I think the safest most reliable method is
to format any new card in the camera it is to
be used in.

I have a similar problem. Tried all the suggestions I got from the
previous threads but no luck. Did you guys find a solution ? Please
let me know if there is one. I tried formating the card several times
with no luck.
