Can't switch identities

Go to Tools, select account, add or remove email. after that, is pretty
straight forward.
You can create several email accounts (not sure how many, not there yet)
under you user account.

Importing does not remove anything from the original account.

There is one aspect to watch out for. If you sometimes access a mail
account via the web (webmail), and you want a copy of messages to
stay on the web, then you need to change a default in Windows Mail
BEFORE the first time you allow Windows Mail to download messages
from that account.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that mail account, Properties, Advanced,
enable "Leave a copy of messages on server."

I have 5 email addresses and they are all tied into one? I just got this
computer yesterday with Vista and I don't know anything about it. Does anyone
know how you can seperate the different email addresses? Thank you

Windows Mail has only one Inbox, so by default, all incoming messages
get dumped into the common Inbox.

I have the same problem!! How did MS make such a fool decision to start with
... and call it an upgrade?

You can set both up under the same user. Go to Help | View Help and then
search for Identities.

They removed the identities feature.

Steve, I did as you suggested and got the response that "all identities have
already been imported or deleted", but I still cannot switch between the two
identities that I have.

You can add multiple accounts, via Tools - Accounts - Add, but Windows Mail
doesn't have identities or a password option....
Windows Mail puts email from all accounts into the same Inbox, and there's
no setting to change that. When you send a message, you can select which
account to send from, by clicking on the From: box.

Here are a few alternatives to keep your email separate...

1. Create folders for each email account and create message rules to move
email addressed to each account into the appropriate folder.

2. Create and use different Windows Users, each with WM accessing only
their email account. (This is how you set a password to keep other users
out.)

3. Use the newer Windows Live Mail which has separate folders for each
account, but no identities or password:

I have a new lap with W vista , and open my mail account in windows mail, now
what i need to do for importing the identities made in oultook express with W
xp?
I tried to import but in the windows live wizard I never can select the
file to import.
