cant start windows firewall

Just uninstalled Norton 2005 from a laptop due to it causing problems.
Cant sart the windows firewall. A mesage now comes up saying

"could not start the windows firewall/Internet connection sharing (ICS)
service on
local computer...

Error 2 : the system cannot findthe file specified"

anyone any ideas how to fix this ???

Hi Jason,

First try the following command:

1.. Click Start and select Run
2.. Type scf /scannow and press Enter (you might need Windows XP CD)
If this does not help follow these steps:

1.. Click Start and select Run
2.. Type rundll32 setupapi,InstallHinfSection Ndi-Steelhead 132
%windir%\inf\netrass.inf and press Enter
3.. Restart the computer
4.. Click Start and select Run
5.. Type NETSH FIREWALL RESET and press Enter
You can also try reinstalling SP2, which included all the files needed for
Windows Firewall.
