Error message 'failed to save printer settings. Remote connections to the
print spooler are being blocked by a policy on your machine'. I changed to
policy to allow but still the same message when trying to share printer.
Any ideas??? thanks

Yes. This works perfectly on a W2K box and seems to be working on the W2K3
(the internet printing can be seen through IIS) but there are no printers
until you share one. That's where I'm stuck - I can't share any printers.

Nothing in the event logs on this. Just the message Error message 'failed
to save printer settings. Remote connections to the print spooler are being
blocked by a policy on your machine' when trying to share the printer. I
changed the policy 'computer configuration; administrative templates;
printers - allow print spooler to accept client connections' and even
checked it with Resultant Set Of Policy but I still get the message. Has
anyone else shared printers on Win2k3?

Yes this is correct, The Web Edition does not allow shared printing. I
spoke to one of the Project Managers here and he said to check the licensing
agreement. There's something in it regarding the purpose of this
configuration being for hosting only web pages.
