Cant send emails.

Well very good. Ran the Steve Cochran WMUtil. Can now send emails again.
Also, it cleaned out my stuck outbox. Still only that one pesky inbox msg
that
will never go away. But, thanks glad to be able send again.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Beside that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail.

How long have you had this trouble? Did it ever work correctly?

I used to be able to send and recieve but then they stoped so i installed
incredimail and could send but not receve then i went to google mail which is
workinh fine but i would like my old email back i have turned of norton on my
emails but still not working i have installed mozorella fire fox and avg
free adition i have uninstalled firefox but still not working i get the error
message

You say you turned Norton off. However, several people have reported here
that they got no relief of Windows Mail problems until they completely
uninstalled Norton antivirus.

It's not a true at all. I'm having the same problem:
"The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test...', Account:
'(e-mail address removed)', Server: 'smtp.wp.pl', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL):
No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E". And I tried all what I
knew, different e-mail program, firewall turned off, all the options I've
found on-line... and nothing... It really sucks..... Hope to got any solution
soon...

Then you're talking about an entirely different error. This thread is about
the error message "An unknown error has occurred". You have a different
error message and should start your own thread. The fixes here are not
meant for your error message.

What is strange is that you are connecting from a connection in The Netherlands,
84.85.173.70 = ip5455ad46.speed.planet.nl, yet you are attempting to use an
SMTP server in Poland. That will never work.
It's called a port 25 block, and almost all ISPs use it.
Your choices are:
a) Ask WP.PL if they allow SMTP connection on a port other than '25'.
b) Use the SMTP server associated with your Speed.Planet.NL connection.
c) Use a third party free SMTP server like Gmail which has SMTP on other than
port 25.

I just want to say cheers mate ....... i couldnt uninstall from my control
panel for some reason so i had to go to norton web page and download the
norton removal tool to uninstall it. my norton was out of date which i didint
realise anyway IVE GOT MY EMAIL BACK THANK YOU NAT
