Can't receive emails

S

Simon Thorn

I recently upgraded my computer.

My emails went through Microsoft Outlook.
My wife's emails via Outlook express.

My emails on the new computer work OK using "Windows mail".

I can send emails from my wifes email address, but not receive?

I have called Bigpond for help and they suggested that i contact you as they
are experiencing issues with "Windows Mail" when more than one account is
attaching to it???

Can you please offer me some asistance.

Kind regards
Simon

Make sure that the one computer is not downloading the messages and removing
them so that the other computer can receive them. Check the settings under
Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced. I'm not sure that's the
issue, as you don't say what's occurring when you try and receive.

Also make sure any antivirus software installed is email scanning disabled.
See point 3 here: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 Some AV software is
incompatible with WinMail.

Your problem description is a bit confusing.
Do you have two computers checking the same email account?
By default, whichever computer downloads mail first will make it
unavailable for the other one. To change this default:
Tools, Accounts, select the account, Properties, Advanced,
enable "Leave a copy of messages on server." Also select one
of the two associated 'remove' options.
Do this on both computers.
