Can't receive e-mail

I have set up my e-mail account per Hughes.net. However, whenever I try to
send or receive mail, it shows 'finding host' then 'authorizing', then a
Windows Security box pops up asking for logon to mail.hughes.net. I type in
my user name and password and hit ok. Then it goes through the exact same
process 'finding host' 'authorizing' and the Windows Security pop up box
asking for the logon info again. It never gets past this point.

Hughes.net tech support says its in my system. Any ideas.

Make sure you are not using incompatible third party security
software. Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee
and Norton security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see

If the problem is not resolved, delete the corrupted mail account.
restart Windows Mail, then recreate that account.

That was a very detailed response, but ultimately not successful. After
spending 3.5 hours with a Dell rep on my new computer, I recontacted
Hughes.net who informed me that saved passwords in IE were blocking my log in
for my email. We deleted those, reset my password and now Windows Mail is
working--with McAfee reinstalled. If I have more problems, I will look to the
virus software first--but in this case it was just a little dirt in the
cracks, so to speak, that needed to be cleaned out.

Good to hear it is working properly now.
Unless Hughes.net uses a very non-standard setup, I'm not aware
how anything in IE can block passwords in Windows Mail.
