Can't Modify Registry Keys

I'm trying to install a new version of iTunes/Quicktime. The installation
fails because I have "insufficient access" to a key in the registry.

The key is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apple Computer, Inc.\Quicktime\Installed File
Types\3g2, 3gp2.

When I hop into regedit and try to open the "Apple Computer, Inc." folder,
Regedit says, "Error while opening key".

My account is THE Administrator account.

I added a registry key to give me elevated privileges using the instructions
at
http://support.installshield.com/kb/view.asp?pcode=WIND700E&articleid=Q105140.

I modified two registry keys to give me full control per the instructions
at: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93865.

Neither worked.

What must I do to be able to access/modify this key?

Thanks,
Mike

So I went out and bought Norton SystemWorks, hoping that it would be able to
fix my registry so I could access these keys, but no joy.

So I'm still hoping that someone out there knows the answer to my problem.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike
