Can't Hyperlink to some slides in "Place in this Document"

B

Bud Trinkel

I am running PPT 2002 on a computer with Windows 2000 OS and have trouble
with one show trying to hyperlink to a slide in the same document. When I
open the hyperlink box and hughlite the slide I want there is no preview.
The show is 52 slides long and I only have the problem on Slides 11-27. All
other slides show in the preview screen when highlited. When I highlite the
slide title and say OK the hyperlink does not work.

I'm Stumped!!!

TIA for all help:

Yes Echo;

More than one actually as example below shows: Is that the problem? If so
why and
what is a way to do the title without comma's? What other punctuation or
other things cause the same problem?

4-Way, 3 Position, Double Direct Solenoid, Spring Centered, All Ports Open
Center Condition

Well, there's a bizarre bug with PPT not hyperlinking to slides with commas
in the title placeholder. (Don't ask me why, I just hang out here. <g>)

The resolution is to take the comma out of the title placeholder.

But (you say), you *need* those commas? No probem.

Copy the title placeholder. Drag the placeholder off the edge of the slide
where it won't show in the slide show view.

Now hit CTRL+V to paste the copy of the title placeholder. Position it where
the title placeholder used to be.

Now go back up to the real title placeholder and delete the commas.

Voila. It's linkable again.

It Works Echo;

No comma's Hyperlink works fine. However I did not use your fix. Instead I
drew a comma and replaced all the comma's with the drawn one. Since I am
using Tahoma font the comma was easy to replace with a fake.

Thanks for your help. I will know what's going on next time I have to link.

I think Robert Lerner's the one who figured out what that comma problem
was, so my hat's off to him.

Glad to hear you got it working, Bud.
