I built a brand new computer and whenever I try to install Windows XP Pro or even Windows 2000 Server, I cant get past the License Agreement Screen. I press F8 and nothing. I can hit ESC and the system responds like it should (ie letting me exit the install). Page Up/Down work and I can read the licensing agreement. But F8 wont do anything
Im using an AMD Athlon 64 FX-51 processor, Asus SK8V motherboard, 4 GB of Corsair XMS ECC Registered DDR PC-3200 memory (4 x 512MB), ATI Radeon 9800XT 256MB, two 160GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 Serial ATA 7200 RPM drives in a Raid 0 config (320GB) using the onboard Promise Raid controller, Lite On 8x DVD+-RW drive and a SB Audigy2 ZS sound card. Im installing XP Pro (not xp pro sp1)
I load the Promise Raid controller driver during the startup of the XP (or 2000) install). If I dont load it of course it doesnt see the drives. I even used FDISK as directed by the Asus mobo manual to make the OS see the drives at one single disk. But no matter what I do XP (or W2k) will not advance pass the License Agreement screen (F8). Ideas?
