can't get new messages

When I try to recieve my messages, the window pops up and says retrieving 1
of 19 messages. It gets stuck on 1 and after a few minutes, it will say Your
Pop3 server has not responded in 60 seconds. Would you like to wait another
60 seconds for the server to respond?
Account: pop-server.woh.rr.com
Server: pop-server.woh.rr.com

So then I hit the wait button, and after several minutes, a popup will come
up saying that my connection has been terminated that could be caused by
several things including inactivity, blah blah blah. It worked fine about 3
hours ago, no changed in the settings. I am using Windows Live OneCare for
anti-virus/spyware protection. Turned that off, and still can't get my
e-mail. I can cancel the whole thing and send e-mail but can't recieve it.
Any ideas?

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.

Does rr.com support using webmail? If so, try using that (under your web
browser, such as Internet Explorer, instead of Windows Mail) and delete
the oldest message.

You might also check here and see if both your server names are right.

Both server addresses are correct, I've checked that. Also, I don't see
anywhere that webmail is supported if you use Windows Maill, as well. I'm
trying to get ahold of my service provider now for customer support,
hopefully I can get this figured out. Thanks for the advice so far, please
keep it coming!

I'm still on hold... After about 20 mins. it finally got through 2 messages
and then popped up with this error:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'pop-server.woh.rr.com', Server:
'pop-server.woh.rr.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error
Number: 0x800CCC0F
Any thoughts on what to do next?

You access webmail through a web browser such as Internet Explorer.
Windows Mail won't access it. The access point may be on your
internet provider's web page.

You might have a corrupt message on the server...
Use Mac's link to the RR webmail and log on.
Delete the oldest email on there. It's probably a junk email, anyway.
Now try WM again.
