Cant Delete inbox mail

Usually due to interference from an antivirus program. What if
any antivirus programs do you have?

For a temporary fix, download and install this hotfix, with
Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether you have a 32-bit version
of Vista or a 64-bit version, try the hotfix for the 32-bit version
first.

Some people have had trouble downloading either version lately, so
if you have this problem, come back and ask for other ways to
reach them. Certain common antivirus programs, such as most
of those from Norton or McAfee, tend to cause this and other
problems in Windows Mail, so if you have such a program,
remember where to find the hotfix and hope it will install again if you
need it again. A recent version of the Trend antivirus program also
causes assorted problems in Windows Mail.

I had this problem with Vista. When you are in the deleted items folder, if
you right click deleted items icon and then select 'empty deleted items
folder' it will allow you to delete but only one at a time.

did everyone else who had this problem also experience difficulty in sending
messages until they got rid of the one that was "stuck" in their Outbox?

I've been using McAfee for 30 years and never had this problem before.

I'll look at your fix though.

Thanks.

Your problem is completely unrelated to the previous thread so please start
a new thread, restate your problem and attach a cut and paste of the error
message for the group to review. Then we can go from there.

This Microsoft fix will do the trick:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090
"Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a
computer that is running Windows Vista"

That page offers two download options. Unless you know for sure
you have 64-bit Vista, use the 32-bit option.

Although only 'Outbox' is mentioned, it will enable removal of stuck
emails from any folder.

How do I get rid of this error

:
I had to delete the messages 1 at a time, but it did work. I then put more
messages in the deleted box and cleared it without any problem. Thanks for
the help.
