Since I originally posted a message earlier today, I
downloaded that "Hijack This" software (thanks, Dave), and
it has not resolved my issue. This software recognizes
the so-called hijack software that has infiltrated my
system and gives me the option to remove, but the software
I am trying to get rid of actually doesn't go anywhere and
nothing has changed in so far as I cannot change my home
page from, "C:/WINNT/secure.html". I select all the items
in the list it recognizes as hijack-type software that are
related to the particular software I want to permanently
delete, then click on the proper button to delete them,
but as soon as I do another scan those registry items will
be changed right back again (even went into the registry
and changed the I/E start page entries to what I used to
have as a home page, with the same result). Those two
programs are gone from the WINNT they originally installed
themselves into, but I cannot get the registry permanently
changed. Any help would be most appreciated.
