Can't Accept Meeting or Appointment Invitations in Outlook 2000

Help!

I have searched all morning for an answer to the following problem:

I am running Outlook 2000 as my email client in internet mail only mode
(IMO). I use yahoo as my mail server, and have configured Outlook to go to
Yahoo mail to send and receive email. works great.

My wife is running Outlook 2003 on Exchange Server at her office and is able
to accept any appointment invitations that I send her.

When she sends me a meeting request or appointment invitation however, I am
unable to accept the meeting or appointmant. I just get an email that comes
across as HTML only. I am not given the Accept, tentative or decline option
that I am expecting .

Both of our email format options are set to RTF. Her help desk has suggested
I upgrade my machine to Outlook 2003, but that is not an option at this point.

Can someone please advise if I have a version compatibility issue,
application configuration problem, POP3 mail server issue or ???

Best Regards,

Ed

Have her uncheck the reminder when she sends you a meeting invitation.
There is a hotfix available for Outlook 2000 that fixes this problem.

In the meantime:
-- Contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the Outlook 2000
post-SP3 hotfix described in this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823199

-- Tell the senders to remove any reminder before sending you an iCal
meeting request.

-- Tell the senders to send to you in native Outlook meeting request (RTF)
format, not as iCal.

Hi Millie,

Still cannot accept appointments. Have updated to Office SP3. DID NOT
install hotfix as it did not seem to apply to my situation. I can open the
appointment email, just can't "Accept" it. Removing reminders had no effect.
One thing of note however, is that on my wife's Outlook 2003 client, the Ical
option was greyed out and not selectable anyway.

Could this problem be related to loss of TNEF on the way from her client to
my machine?

I am willing to apply the hotfix if you insist...

Please advise

Best Regards,

Ed

Ed,
I have been having the SAME problem for months with meeting invitations
from my husband. I just found a posting that suggested unchecking the
I-Calendar option in Calendar Option on the Preferences tab of Tools/Options.
I just sent 5 meeting requests to myself from his laptop successfully!!
Hope this works for you too!
