Cannot view source code

Guest

I'm using IE with XP home - sp2

I cannot view source code, right click shows the 'View source' button, but
clicking it does nothing.
Also, clicking 'Source in 'View' does not work. I've tried to find something
in 'Options' but without success - and I need to update my websites urgently.
Anyone help? All welcome.

View Source Not Working in Internet Explorer

Source Code Is Not Displayed When You Click Source on the View Menu in
Internet Explorer

"View source" doesn't work

Change and/or Add an HTML Editor (Line 132)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

I don't remember who suggested this, but..... If you have a shortcut to
Notepad.exe on your desktop, delete it. For some reason it can interfere
with the the View Source in IE if your HTML Editor is Notepad. I have no
earthly
idea why.

Look for NoViewSource set to 1 in these two keys. If set to 1, change it to
0 (zero)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Restrictions

NoViewSource
0 = disable restriction
1 = enable restriction

Hi Wesley,
Well, I have no idea why either, but removing Notepad from the desktop did
the trick!
You'll never know what lengths I've been to trying to get source, so, thanks
very much indeed, I'm very grateful.
My thanks to nass also, very fast responses here, I was expecting to see
zero for a week or two.
Thanks again.
ps. keeping your posts for reference!!
