Restoring the "folders" view option in Windows

The "folders" view option disappeared after Windows updated on 6/10. (I used
to click "folders" to get a sidebar that showed my folder structure, while I
viewed the current folder contents in the main window.) I cannot find any
place that this option has moved to, and I cannot function in Windows without
it! Does anyone know how to get the folders view back? Thanks.

Perhaps you've tried these:

- Click View, Toolbars, Standard Buttons to show the "Folders" button.

- Click View, Explorer Bar, Folders, to show the folders view in the LH
pane.

To set the Folder Tree as default:

1. Open "Folder Options" then select the "File Types" tab.
2. Scroll down to "(NONE) Folder" and click it, then click
the "Advanced" button (at the bottom).
3. Click on "explore" then click the "Set Default" button.
4. OK, Apply, OK.

An easier way to set the folder tree as default:
Copy this and paste it into the Run box:
reg add HKCR\Folder\shell /ve /t REG_SZ /d explore

START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL...

Is there a folder there named FOLDER OPTIONS ?

I had a serious trojan attack about a month ago and among other things, it
took away my ability to SEE or set my Folder options.

Even the actual FOLDER OPTIONS folder in Control Panel totally
disappeared..with help from 3 wizards here, I managed to get a couple of NEW
security programs to clean and rejig my system..Following that, the FOLDER
OPTIONS folder re-appeared.
