cannot sign in messenger

messenger window will not open and when i double click icon it brings up
'windows live messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close' weird
cos it hasnt open. it was working fine earlier in the day, i have not added
new software, hardware, nothing has change on my comp. i tried to repair via
messenger site still no luck, re to re install, same problem, did system
restore still same problem. please can someone help me. im using the lastest
version 8.

I am having similar problems with messenger. I hadn't had any problems for
months & now all of a sudden I haven't been able to sign in to the version
8.1 for about the last 2 weeks now. Everytime I sign in the screen comes up &
then freezes the small messenger box on the screen. I have to press Ctrl +
Alt + Del to exit out of it in the task manager. I have removed the program,
reinstalled, installed a previous version...nothing works, the window for
messenger still freezes on screen. Any suggestions??

I'm having the -exact- same problem as Wyldflower here has. It's been like
this for about a week and a half for me, I have tried re-installing,
repairing, system restore, but its no use. I would much appreciate a solution
for this problem as I am a programmer and I -need- messenger to contact my
team. Please, if anyone has a solution, it would be greatly appreciated.

Sadly, nothing helped >_>, im running v8.0, and well I don know, Im sick of
microsoft. I guess im stuck with AIM for now.
