Cannot Shutdown-Get Blue Screen

When I try and shut down my computer, it just sits there for at least 10
minutes on "shutting down..." then after about 10 minutes it gives me a blue
screen of death and shuts off and restarts. I have also had these blue
screens of death in the middle of using windows. I dont know what triggers
them. I hope someone may have an idea. When it crashed while my computer was
on I saw BAD_POOL_HEADER. When it crashes when I turn it off it says
something about DRIVERS, its very fast so I cannot get the whole message
easily. Thanks for any advice anyone has.

I have a similar problem. Inconsistently Vista will not shut down at all.
I'll turn my machine off at night, return to it the next morning and it's
still twirling away saying it's shutting down.

The other wierd thing is that a couple times recently, I've left it on for
say several hours and left it. When I come back there's that blue screen of
death telling me it's done some sort of dump and I have to do a hard shut
down to do anything with it.

I'm worried that these problems are escalating and I'm wondering if anyone
can recommend some system repair applications or ideas for figuring out
what's going on. I did call HP about the not shutting down thing. The guy
had me do all this stuff (it took like an hour...) that just nuked my
network connections.

any ideas will be appreciated.
