Cannot see shared folders when using laptop

I can see the shared files and folderson my laptop from my desktop computer
(only when Windows firewall is OFF)
I cannot see the shared files and folders on the desktop when I am at my
laptop.

Are there other factors that I should be looking at?

My setup is as follows:
I have a cable modem wired to a Linksys (WRT54GS) broadband router. The
router is wired to the desktop. Router is wireless to laptop.
I have full uninterrupted internet access on both computers.
I am logged into both computers as the Administrator.
Both computers have Simple File Sharing ON.

Desktop
XP Pro, SP2
Trend Micro Firewall OFF

Laptop
XP Pro, SP2
No Third Party Firewall

Are you sure that you don't have a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall
on either computer?
Misconfigured / overlooked firewalls:

Also, check registry setting restrictanonymous:

If no help, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each computer, as
a start. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions
precisely:
