cannot save JPEG/GIF or open ZIP files

S

Scott

Two problems with IE (well, several, but two now):

1. Whenever I right-click on an image to save it, the file
shows up as untitled.bmp. No matter what format the image
was, I can only save a BMP, and the filename does not
show. That means JPEGs must be compressed twice, costing
image quality and increasing file size.

2. Whenever I click on a zip file it opens in Winzip, but
as an empty file. I am unable to see where, if anyplace,
the file is saved. If I right-click and save the Zip file,
no problem.
