Access to any non-secure site is fine. Cannot open secure
sites. Message is "Canot find server" & "The Page Cannot
be displayed" & at the bottom "Cannot find server or DNS
Error". I have exhausted all suggestions by many techs.
Help!!!

Have the same problem... The suggested page below is of
no help.

https fails, windows update fails. followed the
microsoft recommendation of deleting all files in the
windows update\v4 subdirectory. no help.

also checked the crypto service... it's running. seems a
though a lot of people are having the same problem. some
recent events on my machine: 1) loaded support files for
Sony Clie, 2) installed and now running ConnectedTLM

I can tell you what's probably wrong, but I don't know how
to fix it. This is a symptom of the 0-bit Cipher Strength
problem I am having (See message posted 10:49 p.m. July
14).

Go to the Help menu and select "About Internet Explorer".
The cipher Strength should say 128-bit, but my guess is
yours says 0. If you are using something other than IE
6.0 on Windows XP, there is a fix listed at:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-
us;q261328

I hope someone out there knows how to fix this! (I suspect
the automatic update that applied Service Pack 1 is to
blame!)

Good Luck.
