Cannot load saved projects into WMM

If I import from my cannon camcorder using best quality (recommeded ) option all my saved projects when I try to load them into WMM2, have a bring red "X" instead of video clip. If I use DV-avi option, I cannot import the saved projects getting an error message: "MSWMM file is not a supported file type and cannot be imported into WMM", which makes no sense as one has to save the project in this format. Every thing else with importing from camcorder, to editing, to adding music works fine, but I cannot recovered my finished work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I had a similar red X problem as I had deleted or renamed
the "collections that I imported from my camcorder when I
had created the master project linking several tapes
together, when I recovered or reverted to the previous
collection file names the images came back on the
storyboard, maybe you have done something to the original
collection?

You have to select OPEN PROJECT - not import.

Thanks. I did that and the red X's come up. When I open projects captured as DV-AVI one loaded into WMM properly, but the others did not. I get a box saying that the files are being loaded, but they never appear in WM

Then you have probably moved - or possibly deleted - the original files that
you used to create the project in the first place.
