Could you please provide a better description of your network?

PC 1 (main) is connected via a CAT5 patch cord from the network adapter to
the router. What is the router connected to?

PC 2 has a network card, but what device is on the other end of its CAT5
patch cord? How is it connecting to the Internet? Fill in the missing
pieces and a solution will probably come.

As an example, consider my network:

PC 1, running fully patched Windows Me is connected via a CAT5 patch cord
from the network adapter to a LAN port on the router.

PC 2, running fully patched Windows Me is connected via a CAT5 patch cord
from the network adapter to a LAN port on the router.

Game Console 1 is connected via a CAT5 patch cord from the network adapter
to a LAN port on the router.

The WAN port of the router, a Netgear FR114P, is connected to the
Internet...

Notice that I also threw in the router make and model. It probably wouldn't
hurt to mention what kind of Internet connection; Cable? ADSL? Or other? If
ADSL, is the modem in bridge mode, or NAT mode?

If you want to connect wirelessly, you need a router with wireless
capabilites; not all routers have wireless capabilities, you need a network
card with wireless capabilities, & you need knowledge. I suggest you use the
same brand of router & wireless network card. Be sure they use the same
version of 802.ll . 802.11b & 802.11g are common protocols.

I suggest D-Link products. D-Link provides 1 to 3 year warranties &
lifetime free tech support.

Netgear provides only 90 days of warranty coverage & free tech support.
Before obtaining tech support, you have to go to Netgear's web site, to
register. If you can't get to the internet, because you are having problems
with the Netgear equipment, you are sunk.

Linksys previously had problems dropping signals. That may have been fixed
after Cisco purchased Linksys.

Clearly, you haven't tried the right thing. Remember, something is always
in the last place you look for it because once you have found it, _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _!

I think I have clearly tried the right things, but they do not work. I have
a Belkin wireless router and a Belkin wireless network card. I have phoned
them several times and followed their advice without success.

I have NTL broadband and followed their advice too.

Next stop is going to be to return the goods to the shop and ask for my
money back!
