Cannot Enable Firewall

I cannot enable XP Home Firewall. Under Network
Connection/Properties/Advance box is unchecked and grayed
out. Checked ICF/FCS under service.msc and it is on
Auto. Help appreciated. Bill

Control panel>admin tools> services when you find
internet connection firewall click on properties then
dependencies all of the services listed must also be on
to enable the firewall.

Thanks for replying Mike. I am unable to figure this
out..."dependencies all of the services listed must also
be on..." I see no where to turn anything on or off. I
am in gray area here, but appreciate the help. Regards,
Bill

Bill, when you view the Dependencies, each service that the Internet
Connection Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing service "depends" on, must
be started as well. Make a note of all the services that ICF/ICS depends
on. Then go back to the Services list and locate each one. Double click
it. Make sure each one is Started, and usually, set to Automatic.

Thanks for replying Doug. Checked all the Dependencies
and everyone was started. Changed the manual ones to
Automatic, but still Fireall Enabling option is grayed
out. Suggestions? Thanks for your support. Regards,
Bill
