Cannot Enable Firewall

B

Bill

Referred here by Kent England. I am unable to enable XP
Home Firewall. I have three computers running on a home
network, 1 XP Pro, 2 XP Home. Each are connected to a
single router. One of the XP Home computers has the
fireall wall enable option grayed out and as a result I
am unable to enable the XP Firewall. I have Perfomed the
following:

1)Checked ICS/ICF, status is started and startup is set
to automatic.
2)Checed the Dependencies of ICS/ICF: Application Layer
Gateway, Network Connections, Network Location Awareness,
Remote Access Connection Manager. Each is started and
set to manual, switch all to automatic with no luck.

Help appreciated. Bill

The firewall box will be gray if the connection is part of a bridge, the
bridge, or group policy is restricting you.

Thanks for responding Ken. You've given me a lead, I'll
see if I can figure out what setting may be causing
this. Thank you, Bill
