Cannot Double Click in Explorer

I have a My Microsoft Mouse that won't open any folders double clicking.
Same thing with applications or anything in Explorer. To open a file I have
to select it then right click and choose open. I saw someone else have the
same problem but no answers. When I go to windows that have space to scroll
down in the scroll bar and I click in it then it will also go down two
spaces as though I clicked twice.

I went to the mouse control panel and checked everything, went to a single
click and then back to double and it won't work. Single click works but the
computer should work normally. It still double clicks in windows. The mouse
works perfectly elsewhere. Could there be some type of hidden macro
triggered or something like that? I am using Windows 2000.

Figured it out. If the double click speed gets set at the maximum somehow
then you will never be able to click fast enough to have it double click.
Fantastic. Reset it back to slower and you should be fine.
