Cannot copy properties

Hi - when copying my windows mail folder to an external hardrive as a backup
copy I am getting an error message: "The file at 000E4AA0... has properties
that cannot be copied to the new location". The error message window also
tells me that this issue relates to a total of 4843 files...

Not sure what this means - will it be a problem if I ever need to copy the
entire mail file back into place?

Any help appreciated.

I don't know, but it may help to try a backup with none of your email
programs running.

Some attributes of a file are stored in the NTFS file system, not the file
itself. Copying to an external drive loses that information. The contents
of the message and what we call the message header will be preserved.
